I’m Dr. Lindsay Hamilton, a licensed psychologist providing online therapy across the U.S. for adults and adolescents navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and major life transitions.

Areas of focus

People come to therapy for many different reasons, and often they are dealing with more than one thing. These are some of the most common areas I work with:

Anxiety

When worry, panic, or constant tension start to take over your thoughts or make everyday life feel harder than it should. Therapy can help you understand what’s driving the anxiety and find ways to feel calmer and more grounded.

Depression

When your mood feels heavier than it used to, motivation is hard to find, or you feel disconnected from yourself or your life. Therapy can help you take small, manageable steps toward feeling more like yourself again.

Trauma

When past experiences continue to affect how you feel, think, or move through the world, even long after they’re over. Therapy can help your nervous system feel safer and help you regain a greater sense of control and stability.

Life Transitions

When change, loss, or uncertainty leaves you feeling unsteady, overwhelmed, or unsure how to move forward. Therapy can help you make sense of what’s shifting and find your footing again.

Adolescence

Support for teens navigating stress, emotional challenges, and the growing pressures of school, relationships, and life changes. Therapy can help adolescents build coping skills and feel more confident and understood.

What working together is like

Therapy with me is collaborative, thoughtful, and tailored to what you’re actually looking for. Some people want space to talk and process. Others want practical tools or specific strategies. Some want to be gently challenged on patterns that aren’t serving them anymore. Many people want a combination of these. We’ll talk about what feels most helpful to you and shape our work around that.

I place a strong emphasis on helping you feel understood and accepted first. From there, we’ll work at a pace that feels challenging but manageable, always with respect for your goals and boundaries. I draw from evidence-based approaches and adapt them to fit the person in front of me, rather than using a one-size-fits-all formula.

I work with people who are new to therapy as well as those who have seen multiple providers before. If you’re unsure whether we’ll be a good fit, I usually suggest giving it a few sessions, which I find is enough time to see if you feel comfortable with me and whether the work feels like it’s moving in a helpful direction. If something isn’t working, we can talk about it and adjust, and if needed, I’m always open to helping you find a different provider who may be a better fit.

I’m not here to talk down to you, rush you, or force anything before you’re ready. This is your space, and the work we do should feel both supportive and genuinely useful.

Step 3 - Start Therapy

If we decide to move forward, we’ll schedule your first session and begin working together at a pace that is right for you. Prior to our first session we’ll have intake paperwork completed and my billers will run an insurance verification to confirm I am in-network with your plan and what your copay and/or deductible is, if applicable.

About Dr. Lindsay Hamilton PhD, LP

I’m a licensed clinical psychologist and the founder of Cherry Hill Psychological Services. I approach therapy with a belief that meaningful change starts with understanding - not just managing symptoms, but making sense of the patterns and experiences that shape how we think, feel, and relate to the world.

I value a therapy space that feels thoughtful, steady, and respectful. Sessions with me are not rushed, and the work is not about quick fixes or forcing change before it’s ready. I believe progress happens when people feel understood and supported enough to look honestly at what’s been difficult and what they want to change.

My training includes extensive work with anxiety, trauma, and mood-related concerns using evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). At the same time, I don’t believe therapy should feel like a formula - I tailor the work to the person in front of me.
